July 21 2006, at the
Dothan, AL Animal Shelter – The first time that I saw her.
Day 1 - July 28, 2006. At her new foster home in Dothan, AL. Mabel was being held as evidence in a cruelty investigation. We had to get a court order to have her released from the shelter. The shelter manager, Renee Skipper, went to bat for this sweet girl and got it done in record time.
Day 4 - Mabel does not have any muscle or fat to insulate her body and help her to regulate her internal temperature. She must wear clothes at all times inside the house.
Day 7
Day 14
Day 21 - Mabel made the largest strides this past week. She was found to be hypothyroid and once we got her on thyroid medication, she blossomed right before our eyes. What a difference the medication made.
Day 28

Week 5 - September 1, 2006
Our Sweet Girl Mabel is now in her forever home. Anna Muldoon, the President of Adoptarott and her family have adopted Mabel. After nursing her for weeks they became attached to her and have decided to keep her forever. We have seen solid black rotties, so why not a solid tan one? The only problem is that her bark gives her away every time! Miss Mabel has a hound dog AROOOOO bark that is very distinctive and very un-rottie! Ha! Ha! 10/06/06 Mabel and Mom
